viel zu modern

Hans Steineder Architekt

There is hardly an architect whose work illustrates the break in Austria's understanding of building culture before and after the Nazi era more clearly than Hans Steineder from Linz.

In the 1920s he was still criticized as being “far too modern”, after World War II he designed in the sense of a neo-Biedermeier and no longer wanted to know anything about his “progressive” time before 1938. With this catalog, the Architekturzentrum Wien dedicates itself for the first time to the processing of the estate and the presentation of the life’s work of Hans Steineder. With contributions by Erich Bernard, Barbara Feller, Ruth Hanisch, Christine Lindinger, Elsa Prochazka, Anne-Katrin Rossberg and Dietmar Steiner.
