A guided tour of a construction site is scheduled ahead of its opening, providing exclusive insights into the remarkable new museum being built on the Kunstmeile Krems.

The well-known duo of architects from Vorarlberg marte.marte won the competition from among a total of 59 submissions. The jury were convinced by the clarity and independence of the design. The two directions of movement of the rotated cube react to both the historical urban context and to the landscape on the Danube. Shrouded in a ‘sequin dress’ of zinc shingles, the building is to provide 3,000 square metres of exhibition space for the diverse Lower Austrian State Collections from 2019.
