Waste glass is one of the most important raw materials in the production of glass containers. However the production of flat glass is far more demanding as the glass has to be free of impurities.

Most people are familiar with those moments of not knowing which bin to put their rubbish in: where do receipts go, and what about pizza boxes? When it comes to construction site waste, this becomes even more complicated. In this workshop, Andreas Lehner from the Vienna waste incineration plant explains what happens to our rubbish and how we can protect the environment together by separating our waste correctly. We practise separating and sorting using everyday examples. We also look at upcycling to see if we can build something from rubbish, such as a garden in a jar or a lantern.
