What different forms can a roof have and what are their functions? Domes, onion domes, flat or pitched roofs provide protection against the elements, are viewing platforms and have impressive structures. Since about 40 years ago in Vienna the number of roof terraces with swimming pools has grown increasingly, in contrast straw or bamboo structures are rare.
