The issue of the future of the Küniglberg ORF complex is currently highly topical, and so to be the subject of a panel discussion organised by the Architekturzenturm Wien on 25 March at 7pm.

As the location of the ORF the Küniglberg represents a striking symbol for the cultural history and media identity of Austria. Following the declaratory procedure the building by Roland Rainer, in its time an innovative functional structure, is now quite rightly a listed building.

The building, completed in the early 1970s, no longer provides a suitable structure in its present form to fulfil the demands of a modern media centre. The current appraisal of the cost of renovation, the issue of a useful function and the original architectural concept by Roland Rainer are to be spotlighted and scrutinised in this panel discussion.
