Flexible living in individually designed lofts – the simplest solution is always the best. At last, ambitious architecture firms have succeeded in making it possible for more people to live in Vienna’s highly coveted lofts, that had previously only been affordable for an elite. Completely open floor plans, spanning the length of the units, are equipped with central and compact sanitary cores. This allows for multiple variations of individual configurations of space.

Laubebplatz-Leebgasse and am Hundsturm are examples of these new definitions of lofts. The apartment building in Alxingergasse offers loft ambiance in a densely constructed area in Favoriten. The building also explores the limits of subsidized housing and astonishes with its exceptional quality of materials, its high ceilings and its open yet intimate spaces.
