sundays 103

Climatic – Wind – Channel: Wind speeds of up to 250km/h, temperatures from -50deg.C to +60deg. C, simulated sun, rain and snow. They have to get through it: locomotives, underground trains, buses, magnetic levitation railway and people-movers. The functions behind this vast process are conveyed in the design of their shell and make the distinctive technology employed visible from the outside, providing the works with a corporate identity. The dimensions of a world-scale project have been introduced to the grounds of the former Paukerwerk works.

Roland Hagmüler and Mark Mack, Los Angeles have realised their first project together with a colourful housing development on the western end of Marchfeld. Nine smaller volumes arranged to contrast with one another and a strictly linear block with an emphasised rhythmic articulation of loggias, deck access and roof-terraces. A new soundtrack for the Breitenlee and a claypit pond.
