asphalt kollektiv and 3:0 Landschaftsarchitektur: As part of Vienna Art Week, the Architekturzentrum Wien is visiting two studios that work on designing socially and ecologically sustainable spaces.
The declared aim of the asphalt kollektiv architecture collective is to represent and create spaces for the contradictions and complexity of these times. Collaborative development plays a key role in this. The collective understands architecture as a living system that provides impetus for progressive change, and is committed to transforming the architecture and construction industry. The team at 3:0 Landschaftsarchitektur also takes a trans-disciplinary approach to their work, primarily to overcome the challenges we face in public spaces. This may involve the further development of practical solutions for trees in densely built-up residential areas, as was recently the case on Praterstrasse in Vienna, or a concrete catalogue of measures for cities and municipalities to become climate-fit in terms of their green space, mobility, construction and water.
