Sporting Worlds August 18/19

The Architekturzentrum Wien is dedicating this summer to sports— from the summer Olympics to the Euro 2008 football championship. As a group we take a look at the history of the Olympic Games from the sports arenas of Ancient Greece to the Olympic Stadium in Beijing and the Allianz-Arena in Munich. In a hands-on practical session we take a closer look at the Wiener Stadthalle and make an extension for it that we then go on to reproduce on a larger scale. Perhaps there’s even time for a little game at the end.
