OPEN HOUSE at the Az W

At the invitation of the ARCHITECTURE LOUNGE of the Architekturzentrum Wien this year, like every year, on May 1 admission to the Az W is free for all those interested in architecture. Both exhibitions are open from 10 am to 7 pm. A richly diverse programme awaits you:

1pm + 3pm: guided tour of the exhibition ‘Think Gobal, Build Social!’

2pm + 4pm: guided tour of the permanent exhibition ‘a_show. Austrian Architecture in the 20th and 21st Centuries’

1pm-5pm: workshop for children, accompanying the exhibition ‘Think Global, Build Social’

The exhibition presents current examples of an alternative architecture that attempts to improve the conditions of life using locally available materials and a great deal of own initiative and creativity. Taking these projects as our models we try out for ourselves what can be constructed with given materials: umbrellas, trestles, drink crates and cardboard tubes invite us to build at a scale of 1:1.
