In the series Monument Talks on Thursday, Andreas Lehne holds a discussion with key figures on building preservation and its relationship to the cultural heritage. To mark the 100th anniversary of the Austrian Monument Protection Act, these talks are being held for the first time throughout Austria and coming to the Architekturzentrum Wien for the occasion.

The Federal Monuments Authority (BDA) invites you to talk to experts who are addressing current topics and controversial points of view in order to raise awareness of the protection and preservation of historical buildings and monuments, and to present a range of different perspectives on the subject. Monika Platzer, head of the Az W Collection, has a PhD in art history and has been working at the Architekturzentrum Wien since 1998. Her research focuses on the history of 20th century Austrian architecture and culture. She curates and supervises national and international research and exhibition projects, with the most recent project, the permanent exhibition at the Az W, providing insights into the most important and comprehensive collection on Austrian architecture of the 20th and 21st centuries.
