To accompany the symposium 'Bretteldorf revisited. A century of informal urban development', guided tours are given on foot in originally "wild" populated districts of Vienna.

While neighbouring ‘Brettelfeld’ was never able to achieve official status before its final dissolution in preparation for the Wiener Internationale Gartenschau 1964 (WIG64), Bruckhaufen achieved legal status in 1929. However, to an extent, the spirit of nonconformity that went hand-in-hand with the original self-organisation and lack of formalities still exists in present day Bruckhaufen. The excursion is dedicated to the visible and invisible heritage of the “wild” settlers on the Alte Donau.
