Cultural Buildings Caught between Politics – Media – Architecture

The occassion for the publication was the exhibition “The Viennese Museumsquartier and other
thrilling stories” which has been shown in the Architekturzentrum Wien in autumn 1999 with great
success. The topic of the book are the sensational factual reports concerning the realization of high profile cultural buildings. The book will demonstrate with what similar and dissimilar challenges the planning and construction of cultural buildings have to cope with and point out the correlation of media controversies and political responsibilities.
