Following the extremely successful pilot exhibition in Vienna 2003 showing the projects of the Rural Studio in their entirety for the first time in Europe, which went on to be shown in Chur (Switzerland) in 2004, the exhibition ‘Just Build It!’ opened in Brussels on 1.12.2005.

The presentation provides an insight into the remote self-sustaining world of the Rural Studio in Alabama, where a generation of architects is being trained to be aware of their social responsibility and to transform this awareness into highly engaged architecture.

An analysis of the Rural Studio phenomenon is undertaken showing the full range of their work on the basis of a collage consisting of photographs, drawings and plans, models, student videos and interviews.
