The stocks of the Az W Library grow by over 100 new publications every year, and can hardly be overviewed in their entirety. To filter out examples worth reading (and giving as gifts) from the plethora of new architecture books, which we often only flick hurriedly through, at the end of the year we invite you to visit the first Book Salon in the Az W Library.

A warm-up talk is given by Wolfgang Heidrich, custodian of over about 13,800 architecture books and 19,100 architecture magazines and journals, on the sublime art of hoarding books as he uses selected treasures to provide an insight into the bibliophile’s universe at the Az W.

Following this, our guest speakers discuss the new releases of 2009 on the basis of a subjective selection of books, also giving a personal reading recommendation — independent of the year of publication of the book concerned.
