Architecture in the 20th century

Austria

Sat 14.10.1995 – Sun 14.01.1996

opening day: October 13 1995, 7 p.m.

On the occasion of the 1995 book fair in Frankfurt and its central theme, Austria, the Architekturzentrum Wien and the German museum of architecture in Frankfurt organized a comprehensive exhibition on 20th century Austrian architecture, which was staged in the German museum of architecture in Frankfurt.

In spite of the short preparation period and low budget this exhibition turned out to be the largest and most comprehensive presentation of Austrian architecture of this century.

The exhibition focused on the contemporary art of building. The historical spectrum began with the turn of the century, the time of the old Viennese masters of modern architetcture, Otto Wagner and Adolf Loos.
