By now, everybody agrees that it makes sense to have greenery in the city, because it cools and cleans the air while also being pleasant to look at. But this wasn’t always the consensus. Fifty years ago, Friedensreich Hundertwasser’s ideas were ridiculed. We take a look at some of the projects in the permanent collection at the Architekturzentrum Wien and then set off in search of green oases in Vienna by underground and on foot. We’ll definitely find what we are looking for on the roof garden of the Kunst Haus Wien. And, you’re in for a surprise!
