The exhibition ‘Serious Fun. Architecture & Gaming’ once again shows the close connection between playing games and learning. Games can make complex contexts comprehensible and simulate what develops from one’s own decisions. This makes them well suited to imagining a future world and also to creating awareness. How can we apply the energy that players happily invest in playing to sharing knowledge? We explore the different types of games from construction and board games to doll’s houses, to computer games. Finally, we use a game to appropriate the public space of the MuseumsQuartier and experience it in a new way.
