The exhibition ‘Downtown Denise Scott Brown’ shows the life’s work of the ground-breaking architect whose study Learning from Las Vegas shook up our strict division into high and popular culture — while also appealing to architects to be more open to different tastes and values. The fictitious urban public space in the exhibition opens the discussion on such categorisations, and shows how both contribute jointly to a complex and vital street life. In the practical session we give our imagination free rein, and the result will be a piece of city.
