As a curator, a theorist and the director of the Az W, Angelika Fitz has made a lasting impact on the international architectural discourse while continuing to develop the Architekturzentrum Wien into one of the best known museums for the debates of our time. After ten years, she is stepping down from her position as director of the Az W.

‘What can architecture do?’ was the guiding principle for Angelika Fitz when she took up her post as director in 2017. She initiated groundbreaking topics for exhibitions that look behind the scenes of planning and building, at standards, land and resources. As a curator, she and Elke Krasny introduced the concept of ‘care’ into architecture and urbanism – now a core perspective in the discourse. She examines how architecture is produced, promoted, narrated and collected from a feminist perspective.

An evening dedicated to looking back at 10 years of the Az W in the company of numerous guests, and including a tribute by Regula Lüscher, former Director of the Senate Department for Urban Development and State Secretary of Berlin.

Following this, the Az W cordially invites everybody to a get-together with refreshments.
