© MAK - Österreichisches Museum für angewandte Kunst/Gegenwartskunst, Wien, Sammlung

Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky (1897–2000), Austria’s first woman architect, was a politically active ‘powerwoman’ and former resistance fighter, making her one of the most interesting personalities of the 20th century, and not just as an architect. The tour leads to the first fitted kitchen in the world, and shows further examples of the architect’s timeless work where she made an essential contribution to social building in the 1920s that is still relevant today.
