Since its founding in 1993 the Architekturzentrum Wien has successfully established itself internationally and in specialist circles as a knowledge base for architecture. At the core of its activities is the mediation of architecture complete with all of the basic parameters and protagonists concerned.
As an Austrian architecture museum, we give priority to building on and promoting the dialogue between architecture, politics and economics. We have established the ARCHITECTURE LOUNGE for this purpose, as a special platform for our partner firms, a package for the market leaders in terms of both quality and quantity. Two member conferences are held annually in this context to ensure that there is a regular intensive exchange between the partners. An annual architecture excursion under the expert guidance of Dietmar Steiner to the most interesting architectural hotspots tightens the bonds in this network. This fixture with architectural highlights and insider tips took us to Barcelona in 2005, Chicago in 2006, Manchester and Liverpool in 2007, Istanbul in 2008 and Peking in 2009.
Structure
A limited number of members and a long-term bond with the Architekturzentrum Wien promote a strengthened cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experiences. The ARCHITECTURE LOUNGE aims to establish and define itself as a platform for information and knowledge for decision-makers in the fields of economics, politics and architecture, and to provide services tailored for the development of this platform.
