Understanding architecture as interactive, inspiring, experimental, creative, lending insights, a spatial experience...

Taking the relevant schoolchildren's horizon of experiences, group talks, an experimental and sensual hands-on approach as well as practical exercises adds depth are the basic elements of our programme. A core concern is with practical work on issues addressed earlier in the exhibitions. Working in small groups provides an intensive examination of the subject of architecture. Our programme includes a range of events for elementary and secondary schools, vocational and other types of college, and we are happy to address individual topics. Schools from the provinces can also book all events in the Educational Programme as part of the get-to-know Vienna event 'Aktion — Österreichs Jugend lernt die Bundeshauptstadt kennen' (Action — Youths in Austria Get to Know the Capital City).

Themed tours in Vienna are a key element of the Educational Programme as architecture is best appreciated in situ. Schoolchildren are actively integrated in discussions and exercises, such as making sketches, carrying out analyses of situations, finding things for themselves and role playing.

If you would like to work with a team from the Architekturzentrum Wien over a longer time span, we are happy to tailor an event to suit your individual wishes.

A varied range of cooperative projects complete the palette of services and events offered by the Az W
